About Talisman Travel Design
Talisman was founded in 1992 as a Malaysia specialist. Since then, Talisman has grown into a leading travel organization in the exclusive market segment. Due to their extremely flexible concept, no two trips are the same and Talisman creates an individual, unique and very special travel experience. Always with respect for the local population, the flora and fauna at all destinations.
Briefing
Redesign Talisman.nl with a focus on presenting exclusive travel experiences in a visually compelling and user-friendly manner. Emphasize a sophisticated and elegant design aesthetic to resonate with our upscale clientele. Prioritise easy navigation to highlight our curated collection of luxury destinations and services. Ensure a seamless and immersive online experience that captivates visitors, encouraging exploration and engagement with our exclusive travel offerings.
My approach
With Talisman’s brand identity in mind I chose 2 fonts to use in this design. A sans serif font for the titels which gives a modern feel and a serif font for the body text which has a higher quality appearance. With a given main color, a bright pink I felt this font combination suited very well. Not too formal which would clash with the pink but also not to informal which wouldn’t fit the exclusive travel experiences with associated target audience. Next to the pink I chose a neutral sand color and a set of grey tones. And with a large database of beautiful photos from a variety of locations from all over the world I wanted to use large visuals to inspire the vistor for their next trip.
My role
Visual Designer - On this project I worked together with a great UX designer who provided me with some awesome wireframes. These gave me a great start but also push you in a certain direction. I always explore different directions to see if I can improve the design. Not just color in the wireframes as you see often. Aways in discussion with the UX designer to explain my thoughts and reasons for the adjustments I made. Unfortunately I don’t have these wireframes anymore.
